The Port of Fremantle is the biggest and busiest general cargo port in Western Australia. Fremantle Ports:
· operates from two locations: Fremantle, and 15 kilometres south at Kwinana, all in the Greater Perth area;
· handles 83% by value of the WA’s seaborne imports and 25% by value of WA’s seaborne exports
· handles about $24 billion in trade annually (28.5 million tonnes annually).
The Fremantle - Inner Harbour handles WA's container trade (growth is almost 10% a year), cargoes such as vehicle imports and livestock, and cruise shipping and naval visits.
The Kwinana Quay - Outer Harbour is one of Australia's major bulk handling ports.
