The Outer Harbour at Kwinana, 20 kilometres south of Fremantle, is one of Australia's major bulk cargo ports.
Fremantle Ports owns and operates the Kwinana Bulk Jetty and the Kwinana Bulk Terminal in the Outer Harbour.
Products handled at the Kwinana Bulk Jetty include fertilisers, sulphur and bulk liquids. The facilities at Jetty have been further enhanced by the installation of a new BMH Siwertell Continuous Ship Unloader at a cost of $11 million.
The Kwinana Bulk Terminal accommodates ships loading and unloading bulk products such as cement clinker, Liquefied Petroleum Gas and silica sands.
Both of Fremantle Ports' facilities in the Outer Harbour are linked by rail to the interstate and intrastate rail networks.
Fremantle Ports has a number of tenants in the Outer Harbour which lease areas adjacent to cargo handling facilities.
