The history of Fremantle Ports has been captured in a superb collection of photographs ranging from its beginnings in the mid-19th Century to the operations of today’s modern, bustling port.

The photographs are from a number of sources, including the Battye Library, The West Australian newspaper and the Saxon Fogarty Collection. Fremantle Ports thanks these and other contributors for the permission to display their photographs. If you wish to use these images, you must also seek permission from these sources or from Fremantle Ports.

To access the photos in the Photo Gallery:

Select from either Time Periods or Subject in the menu on the left, and then select either a particular decade (for Time Periods) or a partcular topic (for Subject).

Click the thumbnail image to view a larger image. You may have to click again to get the full size. Some images will re-adjust their size so you can see the whole image.

To view information about the image:

Place your mouse cursor over the magnifying glass icon that is located next to the captionor title of the photo. Not all photos have extra information.
